Check out the before and after below!
We only have one (cozy) bathroom in our home and when we moved in the grey walls and lack of character were just not doing it for us.
This spring we tackled our little bathroom refresh by doing a few updates:
New vanity. We wanted to bring the character back to the space, needed it to be functional (big sink basin & storage), AND wanted a wood tone to add some warmth to the room.
Added beadboard and updated trim. Who doesn’t love beadboard in a bathroom? It’s a charming characteristic you can add even if your bathroom doesn’t have it, and it’s pretty easy and inexpensive to do!
Updated all the fixtures and hardware. We stuck with brushed brass and black. I didn’t want it ALL to be the same color so we used both here and there. Our light fixture, mirror, and faucet were from Amazon so they were fairly inexpensive but look really nice.
Put up an extra long shower curtain. This is probably the simplest thing we did and it made a WORLD of a difference in our small space. It instantly made the bathroom feel more luxurious. We also purchased a fabric waterproof liner and said goodbye to our ugly plastic one.
Painted the room a dark teal. We knew we wanted a bold color choice, I’m so over boring bathrooms! Originally we thought about doing a fun wallpaper, maybe that’ll happen at a later date.
We still have a few minor things to do, but overall it’s complete! I think I might add a long & skinny shelf up high behind the door for some plants to live, just to give that area some more love.
Overall I’m soooooo happy to have this completed and to have this vision become a reality! I’ve always wanted a fun bathroom our rental bathrooms have always been so boring and dingy.
